Exporting bibliographic entries in Zotero as RIS files is a straightforward and well-supported feature within the software. This format is widely recognized by numerous reference managers and academic databases, making data exchange efficient. The process requires selecting the desired items within your Zotero library before initiating the export command. Ensure you choose the correct RIS export option when prompted, typically found under citation-specific formats. Note that the standard method creates a single RIS file encompassing all selected items; individual file export per item is not the default behavior using the standard export function. Generated RIS files should accurately represent the selected bibliographic metadata for importing elsewhere. To implement this, navigate to your Zotero library and select the specific references you wish to export. Access the export function via the right-click context menu on the selected items, choosing the "Export Items..." option. In the subsequent dialog box, select "RIS" as the Format. Finally, choose a destination location and filename before saving the resultant RIS file, ready for import into compatible systems like EndNote, Mendeley, or institutional repositories.
